Una mezcla de mito y realidad se cierne en los relatos de los Caballos del Vino, un evento que habla de la época en que los caballeros templarios salvaron a la ciudad sitiada de Caravaca de la Cruz. Hoy en día, después de siglos, los habitantes de esta ciudad reviven la leyenda en una fiesta de cinco días declarada de Interés Turístico Internacional.

IX MERCADO MEDIEVAL DE CARAVAVA DE LA CRUZ

Queridos amigos, tenemos buenas noticias: ¡¡el Mercado Medieval ya está aquí!!

Durante los días 6, 7, 8 y 9 de diciembre tendrá lugar en Caravaca de la Cruz la IX edición de este importante evento que reúne a miles de personas procedentes de muy diversos lugares. En estas fechas la ciudad se trasladaMERCADO MEDIEVAL r en el tiempo hasta la Edad Media, recreando en las calles del casco histórico (Plaza del Arco, Plaza Nueva, calles de Las Monjas, Mayor, Rafael Tejeo, Puentecilla y Paseo de Santa Clara) un ambiente y un escenario propio de dicha época.

Mientras paseemos por el Mercado seremos sorprendidos por seres fantásticos, bailarinas orientales, caballeros, hadas, ogros, músicos, “pillos y mendigos”, etc. Al tiempo que disfrutamos de los puestos de 200 artesanos, de gremios tan diversos como la cerámica, la pintura, la piedra, la madera, bisutería y gastronomía, entre otros.  Entre ellos estarán también 25 artesanos de Caravaca y unas 20 asociaciones y colectivos sin ánimo de lucro.

Una de las principales labores artesanas en Caravaca es la elaboración de reproducciones de la Cruz de Caravaca por parte de los orfebres locales.

Otras actividades son: la elaboración de turrones y dulces típicos, como el alfajor y las yemas,  la chacinería y charcutería con exquisitos embutidos, panadería, bisutería y  trabajos en metal con especial dedicación a los trajes y ornamentos festeros, forja y cerrajería artística, elaboración de esencias naturales, vidriería, carpintería, y muy característico de la artesanía caravaqueña es la realización de magníficos bordados en sedas y oro para el enjaezamiento de Los Caballos del Vino (festejo de las Fiestas de Caravaca de la Cruz, declaradas de Interés Turístico Internacional) etc.

La visita al Mercado nos ayuda a conocer como era el comercio de la Edad Media, a imaginarnos paseando  por los mercados de aquella época, ya que nos encontraremos con puestos y comerciantes ataviados con ropajes propios del medievo.

El horario de este Mercado Medieval será todos los días de las 11:00 – 22:00 h.

Y para darle un mayor atractivo, el domingo día 9 a las 17:00 h. en la Plaza de Toros de Caravaca de la Cruz, tendrá lugar el ya tradicional TORNEO MEDIEVAL. La entrada tiene un precio de 3 euros.
